Hi, I'm Marion (she/her), born in Kaiserslautern in 1995 and studied Integrated Design at the KISD (Köln international school of Design) in the Bachelor's program. I finished my Master "Stage Design and Scenic Space" at the Technical University in Berlin in summer 2023. While I was enthusiastically exploring and experimenting a huge playground of design during my bachelor studies, I discovered my fascination for scenography during my bachelor thesis - especially for magical spaces where you can immerse yourself, experience an intense body sensation, forget all your worries and have a multisensory experience. I have a special affinity for audiovisual spaces, such as those of the club or the theater, which are about finding identity, regeneration, feelings of freedom and movement of soul and body. Participation and interactivity are very important to be able to fully immerse yourself in a scene. I have already gained some experience with this in projects, but I would like to continue working on it in the future. Besides that the topic of repetition, for example in photo-/Videography, music taste or material pattern can be found in my works as well.
Through travel and international experiences, such as projects and semesters abroad in Brazil, among others, I came into contact with new cultures, ways of working, challenges and people, and I continued to develop personally and professionally. In addition, several internships and costume and set design assistantships in opera and theater at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Volkstheater Munich, Theater Bielefeld, the ifs (International Film School Cologne), as well as at the film production companies Alliance Productions and Sony Pictures contributed to broadening my horizons. My own creations, such as the stage and costume design at the Studiobühne Paderborn, the set design for a hybrid documentary film or the stage for the Siesta Festival 2023 in Berlin, also allowed me to develop as an artist.
In my opinion, the most exciting thing about being a design or scenograph person is the blurring of the line between mundanity and work. This inspiration comes from new, experimental and open-minded experiences gained in the everyday life, conversations and discovery and observation of nature, the environment, various cultures and social issues.
